Join iHaunt for a 12-hour Ghost Hunt Lockdown at this former courthouse and police station.
iHaunt is excited to be able to bring you this location back by popular demand. Follow in the footsteps of the famous Most Haunted – As seen on T.V.
The building was designed by Percy Thomas and is in stone with flat roofs. The magistrates’ court faces Manchester Road and is in a single storey with a central porch rising to a higher level.
The entrance has a giant arch with voussoirs and contains a recessed doorway. The court is attached to the police station, which faces Spring Gardens, and has two storeys.
According to a tablet inside the courthouse, the buildings (Courthouse, Fire Station and Police Station) were officially opened on May 9th 1935 (The year of the Silver Jubilee of King George V) by the Mayor, Councillor A. Wilkinson, The Chairman of the watch committee, Alderman, A.S. Bury J.P.C.A and the Chairman of the public buildings committee, Alderman, J. Waddington, J.P.C.C. Ghostly goings-on.
There have been reports of doors banging and shutting on their own, phantom footsteps and voices. While taking in numerous areas, there is also a feeling of uncertainty throughout the building. Last time we were allowed to investigate this building, we have a guest taken over by an evil entity.
Those of you who have joined iHaunt before know, we will shake things up a little during the night investigation.
